Renting a vehicle: Requirements
- To rent a vehicle through Car Hire in Strabane, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address must be presented, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Strabane office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely by trusted payment providers.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Strabane, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Please ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms falls under your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited, as is using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended for. Exceeding passenger or weight limits is unacceptable, and driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed under applicable law in Strabane, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is capped at the total amount you paid for your rental over the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Strabane. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of local courts.
